Our mission was clear from the beginning: we want to make it easier for companies to hire remote employees in countries where they do not have a local subsidiary. While seemingly simple, a massive hurdle is finding a scalable, compliant, and cost-effective way to employ and pay employees. Many countries have unique sets of labor laws and different currencies, which creates hiring difficulties for managers and HR departments across the world. The options companies have left are to either hire talent as “contractors” to avoid dealing with the complexities of hiring them as “full-time” employees – which is potentially illegal in certain jurisdictions – or to set up a legal entity in each country they wish to hire in – which is usually expensive, time-consuming, and unscalable.
Scalability for our customers is a key focus, which inspired us to move from consultancy only, to developing a world-class HR management platform designed specifically for the international EOR scenario. Our approach shifted to providing an expert-backed SaaS solution for companies looking to hire full-time employees abroad. Together with our customers, we are rapidly developing our product to meet the real and shifting needs of companies employing abroad.
Today, Horizons owns and operates a full-stack global infrastructure in every country we serve. By functioning as the Employer of Record, our customers find the talent, and we put the candidates on our already-established, fully compliant local payroll. This allows us to offer a seamless, flexible, and robust platform to hire and pay a global team at significantly lower costs than traditional solutions.
Our goal is to continue on the upward trajectory we have been experiencing. Horizons is a sustainable bootstrapped business that has grown from 7 to 100+ employees in 3 years – and we’re just getting started.
We are projecting serious organic growth in the coming years, which will improve our service in all aspects: service reach, service quality, and pricing, all categories of which we are already one of the most competitive on the market. Our goal is to continue providing the very best possible experience for our customers.
